M Chatib Basri
President Commissioner - Independent Commissioner
Mr. M. Chatib Basri is currently a Senior Partner and Founder of Creco Research, a Jakarta Based Consulting Firm and a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics University of Indonesia.
Mr. Basri has an expertise in International Trade, Macroeconomic and Political economy and had previously held key positions at private companies such as PT Astra International Tbk and PT Semen Gresik Tbk, where he served as Independent Commissioner.
Mr. Basri held several positions at government institutions. He was the Chairman of Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and was appointed as the Minister of Finance of Republic of Indonesia that he recently left in October 2014. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Indonesia, and his Master’s Degree and Ph.D in Economic Development from Australian National University.
Mr. Basri has been an active participant in scholarly works and international organization including in High Level Trade Expert Group and Independent Regional Advisory Group for Asia Pacific, International Monetary Fund (IMF), of which he was also a member. During the long course of his career, Mr. Basri has authored numerous books and involved in research activities at the global level and written articles for global press.
V. Sonny Loho
Mr. V. Sonny Loho is also currently a member of Public Housing Savings Committee and an Independent Commissioner of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk. Previously, he was a Commissioner in PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. He is a Chartered Accountant (CA), and continue serving the profession as a member of Governmental Accounting Standards Consultative Committee and Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants Public Sector Steering Committee. Mr. Sonny had a long experience in Ministry of Finance
with various key positions such as Director General of State Assets Management, Inspector General, Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting DG Treasury. He was also a Chairman of Indonesian Government Internal Auditor Association from 2013 – 2015. He earned his master s degree in Public Management majoring in Finance from Carnegie Mellon University, USA and his bachelor s degree in Accountancy from the State College of Accountancy.
Mr. Rinaldi Firmansyah was appointed as an Independent Commissioner of the Company since January 2018. Mr. Firmansyah earned a Bachelor’s degree of Electrical Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology (1985) and Master’s degree of Business Administration from the Institut Pengembangan Manajemen Indonesia (1998), Chartered Financial Analyst-AIMR, Charlottesville, USA and a Doctoral of Management Science from Faculty of Economics, University of Padjadjaran (2014).
He started his career as a Junior Field Engineer at Schlumberger-England, Project Manager & Commissioning Engineer at Siemens/PT Dian Graha Elektrika, then worked at Citibank (1988-1991), Vice President of Finance PT Tirtamas Comexindo (1991-1997) and PT Kwalita Exporindo International, Director, President Director and Vice President Commissioner of PT Bahana Securities (1997-2004), Commissioner and Chairman of Audit Committee at PT Semen Padang (2003-2004), Director of Finance (2004-2007) and President Director (2007-2012) PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk. He concurrently serves as a Commissioner of PT Blue Bird Tbk, Commissioner PT Elnusa Tbk and Commissioner of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk.
Mr. Bhimantara Widyajala has a strong educational and professional training background as well as a wide range long list of experience in both government sector and corporate sector. Mr. Widyajala is a senior Strategic Planning Adviser of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. He was a Director and later on Secretary of debt management office in the Ministry of Finance. He served as a Commisioner of PT Indonesia Power, a power generation company from 2009 until 2013 and PT Perusahaan Pengelola Aset, a state owned Asset Management Company (2012-2013). Moreover, from October 2018 until January 2019, he was assigned as acting Director of Center for Financial Profession Supervisory of Ministry of Finance.
Prior joining PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IIF), he served as an Executive Director of Asian Development Bank in Manila, Philippines for four years from July 2013 until June 2017. He represented a constituency of eight member countries, Armenia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Indonesia, Kyrgyz Republic, New Zealand, Samoa and Tonga. During his term as the ADB Board of Directors member, he actively served some Committees of the Board as follows: Chairman and a member of Ethics Committee of the Board (November 2015-June 2017), Chairman of Audit Committee of the Board (July 2014-November 2015), Member of Board Compliance Review Committee (July 2013-November 2015), Member of Audit Committee of the Board (July 2013-June 2017). Mr. Widyajala also was a Dean of the ADB Board of Director from January until June 2017.
His professional designations in auditing (Certified Internal Auditors/CIA), risk management (Certified Risk Management Assurance/CRMA) and fraud examining (Certified Fraud Examiners/CFE) as well as Chartered Accountant/CA represent his credential and strong professional competence in good corporate governance. His professional competence handling variety of tasks brought him to visit more than 30 countries in five continents and live abroad for six years during past two decades. Mr. Widyajala obtained his Bachelor’s Degree of Law from University of Indonesia and Accountant from the State College of Accountancy(STAN) and Master of Science in Finance from the George Washington University, Washington DC, USA.
Mr. Mohamad Al-Arief currently serves as the Special Advisor to the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. In addition to his government service, he is concurrently a Frederick M. Pakis Fellow at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University.
Mr. Al-Arief has Accumulated almost 2 decades of global experience as a development professional. He has held various leadership position within the World Bank Group, most recently as the Head of External and Corporate Relations for its Social Protection and Labor Global Practice.
While in the World Bank’s East Asia Pacific Department, Mr. Al-Arief was in charge for the institution’s strategic engagements accross the region and helped coordinate a team over 40 development professionals in 13 country offices. He represented the institution in its relationship with government counterparts, development agencies, bilateral donors, civil society groups, academia, and the media. In this role, he also oversaw the Bank’s partnership with regional institutions, especially with the Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) Secretariat. During his tenure, he has been based in Washington DC, New Delhi, Tokyo, and Jakarta.
Mr. Al-Arief is a constitutional lawyer, economist, and international relations specialist by training. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Indonesia and did his graduate education at the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University in Medford, Massachussets, USA. He also participated in the prestigious Leadership Program at the Georgetown University’s Walsh School of International Affairs in Washington DC.
Robert Olivier Dolk
Mr. Robert Olivier Dolk has an extensive experience for over 30 years in financial services, working in Australia, Europe and Asia for organizations such as BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank.
He was appointed as Commissioner of IIF on 15 August 2012, and has been also serving as Independent Non- Executive Director of Zurich Financial Services Australia Limited (since December 2008), Director of Lawcover Insurance Pty Limited (April 2010 – April 2016), and Amber Holdings (since March 2011).
He is an Australian Chartered Accountant. Mr. Dolk is the representative of ADB.
Mr. Hans-Juergen Hertel began his career in DEG – Deutsche Investitions-und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (DEG) in 1990 and has served as Director of DEG Office Jakarta from January 2007 until December 2011 before retiring from work and becoming a pensioner in early 2012.
His previous working experience includes holding positions as Vice President of DEG in Cologne/Germany, Project Team Leader of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Jakarta as well as Head of Audit in Treuarbeit, a German based auditing company that as of today is a partner of Pricewaterhouse Cooper. Among others, he has also been working for the German Volunteer Service in Uganda, East Africa.
Mr. Hertel has more than 20 years of business experience in Indonesia where he has a good network to the Indonesian business and social community. He speaks fluent Bahasa Indonesia. From 2009 until 2014 he was a Commissioner of the Indonesian life insurance company PT Avrist Assurance. He graduated from Free University of Berlin, where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Political Economy and Business Administration. Mr. Hertel is the representative of DEG.
Currently, Mr. Richard Ranken is a Director of Xac Bank in Mongolia where he chairs the Audit Committee and of a private equity fund for the Pacific Islands.
Previously, he was a Director at a major Australian provider of infrastructure and water for irrigated agribusiness where he chaired the Risk and Compliance Committee.
He had also served as the International Finance Corporation’s Director of Global Manufacturing, Director of Sub-Saharan Africa, and Director of East Asia and Pacific including for Indonesia.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Economics and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Australian National University.
He has completed the World Bank/Harvard Business School Executive Program and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Mr. Ranken is the representative of International Finance Corporation.
Rajeev V. Kannan
Currently, he is Executive Officer and Head of Investment Banking, Asia in Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). Previously, he was based in Tokyo and was responsible for structured finance.
In his current role, Rajeev is responsible for all corporate clients and investor solutions in Asia and Australia including infrastructure & project finance, M&A finance, real estate finance, asset finance, securitization and syndication & distribution.
Rajeev has over 25 years of experience in Emerging Market and Infrastructure & Energy investing and financing. Rajeev also has experience in setting up infrastructure funds and asset management companies.
He earned his Management and Engineering degrees from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, India. Rajeev also sits on the board of directors of Clifford Capital and Pierfront Capital.
