JAKARTA – The government will accelerate the construction of the Drinking Water Supply System in West Semarang and Bandar Lampung following the construction of the Umbulan SPAM last week.

Chairperson of the Implementation Team of the Committee for the Acceleration of Priority Infrastructure Provision (KPPIP) Wahyu Utomo said, the success of the construction of the Umbulan SPAM project in Pasuruan, East Java, made the government more confident in implementing other SPAM projects with a scheme of government cooperation with business entities.

“This Umbulan is used as an example of developing drinking water management in other regions with PPP. The Bandar Lampung and West Semarang SPAM projects will be easier with this scheme. This does not reveal the potential for attraction between regional government interests,” he said through a press release on Sunday (23 / 7).
