Summary
IIF has agreed to support the construction and operation of 450 Lps water services in Dumai City, Riau Province. The system will provide clean water supply for four (4) sub-districts namely South Dumai, East Dumai, West Dumai, and Dumai City, and also industrial area located in Lubuk Gaung (Sungai Sembilan) sub district. This project aimed to be the main source of clean water supply in Dumai City. The infrastructure development under this Project includes facilities such as intake from Masjid River, water treatment plant (WTP), reservoir booster, and distribution pipeline networks. This Project implemented under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) scheme. IIF’s Social and Environmental Due Diligence process categorizes the project as Category B where the Social and Environmental risks and impacts can be managed by adhering to IIF Social and Environmental Principles. This IIF participation is part of continuous support to water treatment sector in Indonesia by providing project-based financing.
