In December 2020, IIF agreed to provide a Senior Term Facility Loan to support the development of 2 X 4 MW Mini Hydro Power Plant (MHPP) located in Humbang Hasundutan District, North Sumatra. The MHPP is a run-off river hydroelectric system where the plant harvests the energy from flowing water of Aek Sibundong River to generate electricity in the absence of a large dam and reservoir. In September 2017, the project, signed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with PLN as part of government commitment to accelerate the renewable energy mix in Indonesia, targeted to reach 23% by 2025. The MHPP project will distribute power to PLN using the 20kV transmission line to connect to the GI (Gardu Induk) Dolok Sanggul in Humbang Hasundutan. The Social and Environmental Due Diligence (SEDD) has been conducted by independent consultant and categorize the project as Category B Project. By financing this project, IIF consistently contribute to the acceleration of electricity infrastructure development in Indonesia especially from renewable energy part.
